The Knowledge Network on Climate Assemblies (KNOCA) aims to improve the commissioning, design, implementation and impact of climate assemblies, using evidence, knowledge exchange and dialogue. We are an active community of policy makers, practitioners, activists, researchers and other actors with experience and interest in climate assemblies who co-create activities and knowledge.
Spain’s Citizen’s Assembly for the Climate finishes its deliberations
Last weekend, the Spanish Citizen’s Assembly for the Climate held its last session, voting and approving 172 recommendations for a fairer and secure Spain in the face of climate change.
The Assembly has met over the past seven months in a mix of online and face-to-face sessions. It broke into five workstreams which each generated recommendations: consumption; food and land use; work; community, health and care; and ecosystems.
The Assembly’s report will be published later in the year and presented to government and parliament by a group of 12 assembly members appointed by their peers as spokespersons.
KNOCA will hold a learning call on Spain’s Citizens’ Assembly for the Climate in the Autumn.
