The Knowledge Network on Climate Assemblies (KNOCA) aims to improve the commissioning, design, implementation and impact of climate assemblies, using evidence, knowledge exchange and dialogue. We are an active community of policy makers, practitioners, activists, researchers and other actors with experience and interest in climate assemblies who co-create activities and knowledge.
Follow conference online: 'Citizens’ assemblies for the climate: a political or technocratic response to the ecological challenge?'
On Thursday 8 and Friday 9 September, KNOCA will be supporting the EU PHOENIX research project, Maison Française d’Oxford, Paris-Lumières University, Paris 8 University and Nuffield College in hosting a conference 'Citizens' assemblies for the climate: a political or technocratic response to the ecological challenge?'. Invited academics, practitioners, policy officials and activists will be considering the implications of the recent spate of climate assemblies across Europe and beyond, asking whether assemblies should be considered as a single or diverse phenomenon, whether they are only a fashion and whether they represent a meaningful political answer to the ecological challenge.
The conference can be followed online. Further details of the programme and Zoom links can be found here or downloaded below.
