This guide provides practical steps for policy officials that want to organise a climate assembly.

The focus is on what needs to be done within and by a public authority to increase the chance of success. It sets out what you need to consider, and at what stage of the process, to ensure an impact.

‍

The guide outlines the different steps and considerations that officials should take into account and address, with a focus on five different stages of the process:

  • Commissioning a climate assembly (including setting the agenda)
  • Setting up a climate assembly (including allocating staff and resources)
  • During the Assembly (including recruitment, design, and facilitation)
  • Responding to recommendations
  • Next step actions.
